🗓️ International Day of the African Child

“Africa’s children are not a burden — they are our greatest resource.” – Herbert Mensah, President of Rugby Africa

On this day, we’re reminded that true change begins with how we invest in the next generation. Through rugby, we build character, purpose, and opportunity. Every child matters. Every child belongs. Let’s give them the tools to rise. 🏉🌍

On the sidelines of the WRAC which is taking place in Antananarivo and through a large “GET INTO RUGBY” (GIR) festival, Rugby Africa has just celebrated the International Day of the African Child 2025 edition. Note that the players of the South African national team shared on the pitch of the Makis stadium in Tana, with enthusiasm and commitment, the joy of the 250 young people (girls and boys) involved in the GIR festival.
Symbolically, the festival was an opportunity to launch Rugby Africas conscious approach to instilling African citizenship in our youth and raising awareness of the need to improve the education and well-being of children living in Africa through the values of rugby.
By placing the African youth rugby community at the heart of its concerns, Rugby Africa is committed to ensuring that other similar events are regularly celebrated across the continent.
