Paule Ella Guei

A former handball player, I was won over by the solidarity and the good atmosphere that reigned in the rugby family. After a few years as a player, I migrated to officiating where I was laughed at and humiliated simply because I was a woman. But one day, after a game, some girls came to congratulate me on my courage and asked me to teach them how to be like me. Today, I am the spearhead of Ivorian rugby refereeing. I am also one of the leaders of the youth commission of the Côte d’Ivoire Rugby Federation. Thanks to rugby, I am respected and very appreciated in my sporting, family, and professional environment.
