As we’re all aware, the 13th General Assembly meeting of Rugby Africa was held on the 2nd of March 2019 in Marrakech, Morocco.
With that in mind, and due to the ongoing pandemic of Covid-19, it would be vigilant and just of us under the recommendation adopted by Rugby Africa EXCO, RA Judicial and Disciplinary Committee, World Rugby EXCO to postpone the 14th General Assembly meeting to Q1 2022. This gives us ample time to prepare accordingly given the fact that it will be a physical meeting, and we would want to ensure all are given the opportunity to vaccinate if willing to and be able to attend.
The travel restrictions from country to country are still upon us, and that is another hurdle on its own that unfortunately we cannot control. At the backend of that, it is also our concern that not enough parties would show up, and so therein lies another reason for the postponement as the General Assembly Meeting is indeed a major milestone in the life of our organisation and a rare opportunity for all the stakeholders to meet, share and discuss matters of the Association.
